Our standard
We aim to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA across the site, and we test against it before changes go live. Government and healthcare buyers often need to confirm this on a procurement form; this page is the statement.
What is in place
- Every page works with a keyboard alone: menus open with Enter or Space, close with Escape, and can be tabbed through in order.
- Menus, buttons, and form fields carry the labels and states screen readers need, and images that carry meaning have text alternatives; decorative images are marked so they are skipped.
- Text and link colors are measured against their backgrounds in both light and dark display modes; the lowest ratio on the site is above the 4.5 to 1 minimum, and most are above 9 to 1.
- Text can be enlarged to 200 percent without losing content, and the layout reflows to a phone screen without sideways scrolling.
- The site respects your system's light or dark preference and your reduced-motion setting.
- Videos are hosted on YouTube, which provides captions.
Known limitations
The sample Certificate of Destruction is shown as an image with a text description; the same content is available as text on that page. The service area map is drawn as vector graphics with a text list of every metro beside it.
